Putting a Lasting Power of Attorney in place shouldn't feel complicated

A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) allows you to appoint people you trust to make decisions on your behalf if you're unable to do so in the future.

There are two types of LPA:

  • Property and Financial Affairs

  • Health and Welfare

For most people — the Property and Financial Affairs LPA is the most immediately practical — allowing someone to help manage finances and access accounts if needed.

If you have savings, investments, or digital assets, having the right structure in place can make a significant difference when it's needed.

The challenge for most people isn't understanding what an LPA is — it's knowing how to put it in place properly.

Book your free Initial Consultation

If you'd like to get started, the first step is a short consultation to make sure this is right for you and to explain how everything works

Who this is for

This service is ideal if you:

  • Want to setup your LPA properly, but don't want to do it alone

  • Feel unsure about the forms or what to include

  • Want reassurances that everything is completed clearly and correctly

  • Prefer a guided, personal approach rather than a fully outsourced legal service

How It Works

Step 1: Free Initial Consultation

On this consultation we will confirm if this is right for you, explain how the process works, and answer any initial questions.

We will assume you have an understanding of what Lasting Power of Attorney is, however we will fill any gaps in knowledge, during this consultation.

We will discuss what you'll need to have ready, so everything runs smoothly when we complete your LPA together, on the next Step (Step 2).

If you wish to go ahead we will arrange a Guided LPA Session.

Step 2: Guided LPA Session

We meet online and go through your LPA together, ensuring the right details are correctly input, which will allow for document provision.

Step 3: Review Before Submission

This gives you confidence that your LPA has been completed properly before it is submitted to the Office of Public Guardian.

What's included

  • A full review of your documents before submission

What's not included

Government registration fees £92 per LPA are payable seperately to the Office of the Public Guardian.

What happens after the session

After we complete your LPA together:

  • We will send you your completed documents by email, with signing instructions

  • You send us scanned copies by email, of the signed pages

  • We confirm if the documents look correct, or what corrections are required after which we will ask you to send us a corrected version.

Choosing how to put your LPA in place

A lot of people want to put an LPAs in place — but end up putting it off. Not because they don't see the importance, but because they're unsure of the best way to do it. They may repeatedly consider:

  • What are the costs to put the LPAs in place.

  • Can I do it myself, what if I get it wrong.

  • Who could I select to help me ?

What most people are really looking for is simple:

  • Help and hand holding through the process, with careful review to ensure documents submitted adhere to the right standards expected by the Office of Public Guardian, who will register them.

  • Getting it right first time — avoiding the need to re-submit (at extra cost)

The Heredix guided service option sits between doing it alone and using a full legal service.
